Health Coaching

Maija Giganti obtained her Primal Health Coach Certification through Mark Sisson’s Primal Health Coach Institute and offers a wide variety of wellness programs. Sessions can be completed in person or via Skype/Zoom/Phone. Both group and one-on-one sessions are available. Maija is very well versed with this type of lifestyle (began her journey back in 2007) through a great deal of self-study and personal implementation. Here are some of the aspects of health below that she focuses on. Individuals can make positive changes at their own pace – wellness is a journey, not a sprint!

Nutrition

Eating in line with how our ancestors ate (especially eliminating/greatly reducing grains, all forms of sugar and bad fats – 3 main culprits affecting metabolic health). A great focus is placed on nutrient density and food quality (pastured meats, eggs, wild fish, high quality dairy if tolerated, healthy fats, nuts/seeds, and lots of organic vegetables and fruits). Delicious/easy recipes, resources for local farms/co-ops and education on label reading (and how to navigate grocery stores) are offered as options with this program. **Any dietary information provided is general and not intended to treat specific conditions.

Brighter Days Brighter Days

Proper forms of movement/exercise

Increasing general movement each day (low intensity hikes/walks) and brief higher intensity sessions – this can involve strength training and sprints. Other forms of movement such as yoga or activities/sports that bring joy/stress relief.

Sleep

Importance of getting enough sleep in the right environment during the right timeframes to maximize your circadian rhythms and health.

Sunlight and Red Light Exposure

Per Dr. Jack Kruse, 70% of our health status is due to our exposure to good light (getting various spectrums of sun throughout the day; getting exposure to good red and near-infrared light) and negative exposure to bad lights (blue lights from computers, TVs and screens has a negative impact). Don’t worry – technology doesn’t need to be given up! Many things can be done to improve one’s health in this area! EMF exposure and mitigation will also be covered.

Reducing Toxicity

Toxicity is very important topic and one that Maija has studied for a decade. Many areas will be addressed (solutions provided!):

  • Home Care products
  • Personal care products
  • Infant and Children's products
  • Buying household items free of formaldehyde, flame retardants, pthlatates, other VOCs, etc.
  • Water
  • Lawn chemicals and pesticides
  • Inside Air quality

Mindset

Adopting a positive outlook. Moderating stress levels and participating in activities such as yoga, meditation and walks in nature that promote calmness. Finding your purpose. Becoming part of a positive community. Nurturing relationships and so much more!
